The company, founded in 1954 by the married couple Elisabeth and Walter Giesswein, is a worldwide leading manufacturer and processor of fulled fabrics. During the fulling process, the fine fibers protruding from the yarn and to a certain extent the yarn threads of the wool fabric itself are felted in a very elaborate and up to 12-hour process, creating a very durable material that is not only water-repellent and windproof, but also has antibacterial and temperature-regulating (i.e. warming and cooling) properties and high breathability and wrinkle resistance.
